Linda Johnson currently serves as the Human Resources Supervisor for the Georgia Gulf Corporation. In November of 1999, she was elected to the Louisiana Board of Elementary and Secondary Education and began her first term of office in January 2000. Johnson serves as Board Secretary-Treasurer.
Johnson's other BESE related duties include serving as Chair of the High School Redesign Committee, vice-Chair of the Accountability and Assessment Committee, and as a member of the Student and School Standards/Instruction Committee.
Johnson is co-owner of the Off the Rack dress shop and DIA-LIN Corporation.
Johnson graduated from Southern University with a B.S. in Microbiology.
Johnson, of Plaquemine, Louisiana, is a member of the Iberville Chamber of Commerce, the Iberville Head Start Advisory Council, the Iberville Economic Development Commission, the Louisiana Chemical Society, and the National Association of State Boards of Education. Her main areas of education focus are early childhood education and changes in the design of high schools. |
